"I Thought Gluten Free Meant Nasty" Shrimp Pasta




Shrimp Pasta--I happen to have had all the ingredients for this pasta one day--but noticed that I only had the gluten free penne pasta I accidentally purchased...My first thought was "if I ruin all this good Costco oversized shrimp, I will be LIVID. But it came out SO GOOD! So I wanted to share the recipe with you!


1 Box gluten free penne pasta


Shrimp

2 cups of raw large shrimp

1 tsp vegetable oil

Cajun seasoning (Tony's Chachere)

garlic powder

paprika

salt

black pepper

cayenne pepper

chili powder

2 tbs unsalted butter


Sauce

2 tbs butter

1 tbs minced garlic

3/4 cup 2% milk

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup of parmesan cheese

salt

black pepper

  1. Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, paprika, black pepper, chili powder, cayenne pepper in a bowl

  2. Add all of penne pasta to a large boiling pot of water, adding a dash of salt

  3. Let pasta boil for 11 min

  4. Drain pasta and set aside

  5. Place butter in a skillet until melted, and place seasoned shrimp to cook for 3-6 min on each side; remove shrimp from skillet and place on plate

  6. Add butter to skillet, when melted add garlic until translucent

  7. Add flour and whisk for 3 min

  8. Slowly add milk to mixture

  9. Add in parmesan cheese and stir, let thicken

  10. Immediately add in pasta, then shrimp and fold into the cheese mixture

  11. Top with parsley for effect!
